Introduction to I R POLYTECHNIC
INDIRAMMA A.M. and Dr. RAMIAH B.K. POLYTECHNIC (I.R. POLYTECHNIC) was established by the dedicated effort of the most eminent international Civil Engineer Late Dr. B.K. Ramiah. Dr. B.K. Ramiah who retired after serving the University Visvesvaraya Engineering College, Bangalore as Principal proposed to start a Production Engineering and Job Oriented Polytechnic in the premises No. 195, Peenya III Phase, Bangalore – 58 with sole object of deporting technical education to the students who have passed the S.S.L.C. Examination having the requisite eligibility to enter Polytechnic, sothat the students who got through the technical examination may stand on their own feet and start small scale industries of their own. The Government of Karnataka has accorded permission vide Order No. ED. 39, MPI 86 dated 18-4-1986 to India testing and Engineering Corporation and Indiramma A.M. and B.K. Ramiah Endowment Educational Trust Charities to start a Polytechnic under the name I.R. Polytechnic I.R. Polytechnic is affiliated to the Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Karnataka, and Recognised by All India Council for Technical Education-New Delhi. The Management having realised the inbalance in the technical skill among trained personnel in the field of Industrial Production Engineering dnd Industrial skill among educated young persons, proposed this Institution with the object of imparting production and job oriented course leading to a3 year diploma.
